02-06-2026 Swim

Slept pretty well, didn't need to read during the night (<>). Got up and started packing for the Palm Springs trip, including gear from the garage that I will need. Then I got ready for a relaxed swim at the WWC, only 1000 yds and no headphones. I tried out the Polar OH1+ heartrate sensor, attached it to my goggles, and I think I set it up to connect properly to my Amazfit watch. The heartrate it recorded is high, similar to what I've seen directly from the Amazfit sensor, so I'm still not positive that it is connected. Times for the two 500s were: 9:38, 9:45.

Avg pace = 1:56/100 yds (Video)
Total distance = 1000 yds
Elapsed moving time = 19:23 (Video)
Avg heartrate = 151 bpm (Zepp with Polar (?), maybe)
Relative Effort = 31 (maybe)
SWOLF =38
Avg stroke rate = 21 bpm
Avg pull distance = 2.25 yds

Got home and had oatmeal, yogurt, and coffee for breakfast, then continued packing and cleaning my bike. Andy and James showed up a little after noon, I loaded all my gear into the car, put the bike on the rack, and we were off. We took the scenic route to Andy's sister's weekend house in Palm Springs, got there around 3:00. Their house is fabulous, we put all of our stuff in the casita, which was small buta functional for the three of us. Had some drinks to unwind, then we headed into Palm Springs to pick up our registration packets and walk through the booths. They had old Tour de Palm Springs jerseys for sale cheap, we bought three for $15. Headed back after that, and I made spaghetti and sausages for dinner. Easy evening before the big ride, got to bed a little after 10:00.
