06-14-2026 Ocean Swim/Walks

I seemed to feel a little better early in the morning and got some decent sleep in the night. My fever broke and I slept until just before 6:00. I'm guessing it was something in my digestive tract, perhaps a partial blockage that cleared. Could have been a UTI, but I'm guessing it would have taken longer to get better. There is also the possibility of it being a kidney stone, although the pain was more in my belly than back by my kidneys. In any case, I'll keep an eye out for any further symptoms and be glad that it is in the past, at least for now. Thought I would walk down to the beach and maybe go for a swim if I was up to it. Packed my stuff into the dry bag and walked to the nearest beach. I unpacked my stuff and walked into the water, putting my swim fins on and heading out beyond the break, turning south there and swimming for a bit. Slow strokes and regular breathing, not looking to stress the system. I swam out for about 500 yds and turned around, getting back to the shore sooner than planned and walking the rest of the way to where I had left my stuff.

Avg pace = 2:08/100 yds (didn't pause my watch during the pauses while swimming)
Total distance = 708 yds
Elapsed moving time = 15:09 (Zepp)
Avg heartrate = 135 bpm (perhaps)
Relative Effort = 8 (perhaps)
SWOLF = 95
Avg stroke rate = 21 bpm
Avg pull distance = 2.14 yds

Felt okay in the swim, belly is still a little tender. I walked back to the Airbnb in my bare feet, that was occasionally painful. Got back, and everybody was up. I took a quick shower, had some cereal for breakfast, and hung around the Airbnb in the morning. Still not feeling 100% but better. In mid-afternoon we all walked, in the rain, to get shave ice and walk through the ABC Store. It got pretty heavy, so we waited under an overhang until it subsided. Shave ice was good, the store had tacky souvenir stuff and some food selections. I had a nap after we got back. In the evening we grilled some fish, tofu, and vegetables on outdoor gas grills at the complex. Turned out okay, not as tasty as charcoal-grilled food. The rest of the evening was quiet.
