05-03-2026 Walks

This was a casual start to the day (<>). Ann found us a place to walk to for breakfast. We got there right as it opened, talked with the server Sunny quite a bit. Food was good, although I drank too much regular coffee. We got the car from the library parking lot and moved it close to the hotel. Relaxed in the room for a while, then we headed out for a walk. Down to the touristy boardwalk area, then on the path along the water. We saw water birds, a couple of otters, harbor seals, and some sea lions lounging on the rocks. We walked down to part of the Cannery Row area before turning around and walking back to the hotel. I watched some basketball for a while, also read, then we went back to the Mexican restaurant nearby and ate lunch. More chilling in the middle of the afternoon until it was time to get ready for Zac & Joey's wedding. We got to the venue a little after 4:30,the other Bisikleta folks started showing up. Audrey and her husband Rob showed up as well. She was using hiking poles to help her walk, as she is recovering from a bout of Guillain-Barre disease. She's putting a bright, optimistic face on her prospects for a full recovery, and I'm hoping it all works out. The wedding was outside in a pretty venue, was sunny but a little breezy. Their vows were sweet, they make a cute couple who are committed to each other. We got pictures of the Bisikleta group with the wedding couple, had a cocktail time, then headed to dinner inside. Food was decent, lots of vegetarian options (pasta 😊). The toasts were also sweet, and then the dancing began. Ann had a good time, it was okay for me. We did some group dancing with the other Bisikleta folks, Fritz and Gideon are good dancers. Stopped at the photo booth during the evening as well. The music stopped at 10:00, we said thanks to Zac, Joey, and their dads, then we drove back. In bed before 11:00, to sleep soon afterwards.
