Early Friday morning ride on a weekend that we were going camping. I headed through the neighborhood to RB Rd, then down toward San Dieguito Rd. It was overcast throughout the ride, and pretty humid but not foggy. Down the Three Witches, then right on El Apajo and over to Via de la Valle. I was feeling pretty good, and I climbed the short climb into Rancho Santa Fe pretty easily. I made fairly good time going down to Solana Beach and turned left onto PCH. Originally, I was planning on coming back on Via de la Valle, but I passed it by before realizing it, didn't know it was so close to Solana Beach. So I stayed on PCH through Del Mar and came back via the 56 bike trail. Down at the coast, there was a little bit of sprinkles but it didn't last. Back up the bike trail, where I felt like I made good time, keeping my pace above 16 mph for nearly all of the gradual climb up to Camino del Sur. Headed back this way and matched pace for awhile with a guy who was doing a similar loop. Back through 4S Ranch, then down RB Rd to W Bernardo Dr and home. Throughout this entire ride, I didn't let my pace get below 10 mph. Felt good at the end.
