Solo ride in the morning on MLK Day, nobody else was able to ride. It was cool at the start but generally pleasant, and I didn't feel cold during the ride. Over the freeway to BVP and up the 78 to cut over to Citrus Ave. I rode up to Reed Rd, then took a right to head into this neighborhood and explore a little. Left on Falconer Rd, then another left onto Oak Hill Dr to get to Hayden Dr, which I found connects back to BVP. Over to Valley Pkwy and up to Hidden Trails Rd, where I took a right an again did some exploring (some climbing at the start) of this neighborhood, which is kinda nice. All the way to the end of the road, then I turned around and rode back down onto El Norte Pkwy, which I stayed on for a while across the freeway and over to Woodland Pkwy, turning left there. I rode over to Mission Rd and took it (felt like some help from a tailwind or slight downhill) to Las Posas Rd to get over to San Marcos Blvd. Short stretch up to Rancho Santa Fe Rd, where they were repaving the street, which made it a bumpy ride for a little bit. Then it was down to Melrose Dr, taking it over to San Elijo Rd and up into San Elijo Hills village. On over to Elfin Forest Rd and then to Harmony Grove Rd, where the gradual climb wasn't bad at all, although I didn't set any speed records here. I stayed on it all the way into west Escondido, turning onto the bike trail and riding over to Tulip St and then to Valley Pkwy. Onto Centre City Pkwy, where my pace was still decent, taking the normal route home from there. I had a decent push up the climb before the park, although I could tell that my leg muscles were starting to complain. Final push up to home was okay as well. This was a fairly decent ride for me, not super hilly, but I had an okay average speed.
Avg speed = 17.3 mph. Total mileage = 45.8 mi
Avg heartrate = 142 bpm
Total elevation gain = 2380'
