Solo recovery ride on the day after the Tour de Palm Springs Century. I headed through the neighborhood of the AirBnB we were staying (on Bob O Link Ln in SE Palm Springs) to Gene Autry Tr and headed north. The wind was definitely more brisk than the day before, and it appeared to be coming from the WNW. So it was a chore on this initial section, which had a very mild uphill grade. Turned left onto Visa Chino, and it seemed like I was riding directly into a 20 mph wind, with a continuing mild uphill grade. This was definitely a tough stretch until I got closer to downtown Palm Springs, where the wind wasn't so bad. I rode to the end of that road and turned left onto Via Monte Vista, which was thankfully out of the wind and downhill. I was trying to see how far up into the hills I could ride, so I turned right onto Camino Sur, getting over to Rose Ave and heading south to Crescent Dr and taking neighborhood streets to get to Alejo Rd and then right onto Belardo Rd. I stayed on this road until it dropped me onto Palm Canyon Dr. Back toward the AirBnB, doing a little loop near the end to get up to a total of 15 mi.
Avg speed = 15.2 mph. Total mileage = 15.7 mi
Avg power = 147 W. Weighted avg power = 155 W
Total elevation gain = 310'
Avg heartrate = 134 bpm
