Solo ride in the afternoon, while Ann was down at Liberty Station with Johnnie. I had my first cataract surgery on Thursday, so I kept the pace modest and didn't push it at all. Wind was fairly brisk, coming from the southwest, so I decided to head that way to make the return easier. Through the neighborhood and up to RB Rd, taking it over to Alva Rd and turning right. All the way this time to its end, following it around and starting up a spur road that leads to a water tank. I only went partway up before turning around and heading back, eventually connecting to Ralphs Ranch Rd to get to Albert Ave and then the normal way out of the neighborhood and into the Del Sur neighborhood via Paseo del Sur. This time, I turned left on Paseo Montenero and then right on Haaland Glen to get back to Paseo del Sur. Down and then back up until I turned right onto Via Azul and rode through another neighborhood, eventually getting back onto Paseo del Sur and riding up to Carmel Valley Rd. I turned left here and benefited from a steady tailwind pushing me up this gradual climb and then back down into 4S Ranch. Took Dove Canyon Rd up and then turned left onto Lone Quail Rd. Over to RB Rd and then home from there via W Bernardo Dr. Felt fine on the ride, took care not to put much pressure on my system, and it worked well.
