Woke up a little before my alarm was supposed to go off, had a quick shower, and started packing my stuff into the backpack. Got it all ready and put into the car, reinstalled the back luggage cover, and had some time to eat a roll for breakfast. We left a little after 7:00, and I was glad for the extra time. Ran into more traffic than expected as we got near Girona, put gas in the car (that went smoothly), driving was only slightly stressful, but we made it back to the parking lot with no difficulties. Dropped off the key and walked over to the train station with enough time to get a little something for on the train as well as a coffee. Train was slightly delayed but not too bad, got on with no problems. At the train stop after we passed into France they checked our passports, again no issues. Got into Nimes train station fine, we went out of the station and got lunch at an Asian restaurant, took a long time for the food to arrive, so we got it in takeaway boxes and walked over to the station. No issues finding our train and getting on it. The ride into Avignon was uneventful, and we had to wait about 30 minutes to catch a short ride over to the TGV station, where the rental car agency was. Picked up the car, no problem, and rove over to the Airbnb, which thankfully had a dedicated parking spot for us. Marie, the host, showed us the place, which is nice but in a neighborhood that's not top-notch. Doesn't look unsafe, just lower middle-class. We got situated, I had a short nap, then we walked to the Intermarché to get food for the next several days. Spent more time at the grocery than I would have liked, we kept getting stuff. Stopped at the fruit and vegetable store on the way back and got a couple of items, the walked back and made red lentils for dinner. They turned out well, it was nice to have a quiet dinner in for a change. Evening after that was quiet, then to bed (<!>).
