Travel day. I've gotten over the 10k steps every day thing, with my new watch playing a role. So, no getting up super early to walk in the night before heading to the airport. We got up at 3:45 and were in the Uber at 4:20. Minor surprise for Ann, who thought it was coming at 4:40 and had to scramble when I told her otherwise. Through airport check-in smoothly, there were lots of folks traveling early on Labor Day, more than I would have guessed. We made it with no hitches onto the plane, decent seats for the first leg to Chicago. I spent some of the time filtering out 2025 photos of little interest from my MicroSD card. Shorter flight to Toronto, but it arrived late and cut into our layover time. All worked out, since we didn't have to go through Customs anyway. The Air Canada flight to Madrid was nearly full, but again no problems for us in stowing our backpacks in the upper bins. I watched two movies on the way over, The Penguin Lessons and Edge of Tomorrow. Very different movies, but both were entertaining in their own ways. Also listened to some music on my phone. Didn't sleep much on this flight.
