01-16-2022 Ride

Solo ride over to Avi's house off of Via Rancho Parkway, taking the freeway route and riding slowly up the climb there.  We met up and then headed out to Del Dios Hwy, heading down to El Camino del Norte.  I was feeling the effects of the previous day's ride, but the day was enjoyable due to good weather this time.  There were a couple of times that I pushed the pace but not too hard, preferring instead to concentrate on trying to keep my pace above 10 mph throughout.  We rode over to Rancho Santa Fe Rd and turned right, then stayed on it as it turned and headed toward San Elijo Hills.  On this climb, the sun got a little intense and I felt hot, but it passed.  Right on San Elijo Hills Rd, taking it up to Elfin Forest Rd and riding in the opposite direction of the route from the previous day.  The downhill was much more fun than the corresponding climb.  We stayed on Harmony Grove Rd until Enterprise St, then turned left and rode up to its dead end before turning around and riding to Andreesen Dr, turning left (we should have turned right) and riding up to Auto Park Way, then a left to ride up to Citracado Pkwy to get to Stone Brewery, where we had a beer and a good conversation before riding back to Andreesen Dr and then Enterprise St to get to Hale St.  Up to Avenida del Diablo, turning right and getting to Citracado Pkwy, turning left and heading back to Del Dios Hwy.  From there, it was a turn onto Via Rancho Pkwy, that last climb up to Avi's driveway (slow, my legs were wearing out), and then home the normal way from there, albeit at a really slow pace.  I was done by then, no cramping but no push left either.  Nice ride, glad it wasn't any longer.
