Rode over to Gideon's house, where I met up with him, Jhonar, Kamal, and Jamil. Kamal needed to replace a tire, and that took longer than expected. So we were late getting to the starting point. Big group on this day, 20 riders total, not all of them I knew. Here's who I remembered from the ride: Ray, Perse, Kamal, Jamil, Jhonar, Gideon, Edison, Mer, Darryl, Darnell, Andy, Tim T., Julius, Jed, and Rush (who took a wrong turn early and ended up going on a different ride). Out Camino del Sur to San Dieguito Rd, then down into the flats and over to El Camino Real. Over to Via de la Valle, taking it down to the coast and then heading south through Del Mar. Then we rode up the Torrey Pines climb, Mer was off the charts in her pace, and Jed was also strong. I got up there after them and Darryl, who took off before the others. Then we headed back down the hill and over to Carmel Valley Rd to get to the 56 bike trail. Up to Camino del Sur and then back to the 4S Target where we started. Home taking a turn onto Capilla Rd and stopping briefly at Gideon's, then down and over to W Bernardo Dr to get back. I kept a pretty good pace throughout this ride, always among the leaders and regularly getting to the top of little climbs first or second. Felt good at the end, like I still had a lot of strength left. Later that afternoon, we went with many people from this group to Mia Marie Winery.
