I got up and had a little food, then helped David load the bikes onto the car rack. We drove out to just beyond the Bowers Mansion on Old 395 and parked, then unloaded our stuff and headed north on the highway. We had to turn back after a little bit for David to get his water bottle, then we were on our way. We rode on the overpass and through Washoe City, then up a short shallow grade to a turnoff that eventually headed back south and around the east side of Washoe Lake. It also took us through New Washoe City. All along this route, I was pushing an easy pace and being very careful not to speed up. David kept the pace throughout and only use his electric assist of the periodic little uphills, none of which were significant. We stopped at the campground by the lake for a bathroom break. Past there, at o e point I lost my focus and went into the dirt at the side of the road, but I kept it upright and got back on the road with no problem other than a little scare. Later, David did the same thing and scared us both. We rode down to the southern end of the lake, and the road eventually connected back to Old 395, where we started heading back north until we got to Franktown Rd, where we turned left. This took us through a nice wooded neighborhood of fancy houses, including a lot that they considered buying and building on. The first part of this road had some climbing, nothing steep but noticeable. Then we basically descended all the way back to an intersection with Old 395, right by where he had parked the car.

We drove through some of the neighborhoods in this area on the way back, and David talked about some of the properties and areas that they had considered buying back in the day. Got back to the house, Ann and Christine were visiting ArtTown activities, so I ended up having a nice relaxing afternoon. Had to fix a rear tire flat, but I read and napped, it was very good. They eventually returned, and Ann later had a nap too. I went for a walk in the mid-afternoon, that was pretty hot. For the most part, I walked along the wetlands trails, got most of my steps in but not all. Later, we chatted in the back yard before heading to a nearby pizza place for dinner. They really like to load on the food at mealtime, generally not my style but I went along with it. After we got back from dinner, I went for a short nighttime walk to finish my steps, then it was time for bed.
