07-24-2025 Swim/Run/Ride

Slept pretty well, even with the large Pepsi for lunch on the previous day (<!>). I had a little time before getting ready to go to the WWC, so I took it easy on prep. Got over there, and there were a fair number of people waiting to get in when it opened. Still, I was able to get a lane to myself. Ended up swimming 1550 yds, switching from lane 3 to lane 4 after 1000 yds to give that lane to Cathy, who had just showed up. I felt okay in the first 500 but the second and third 500s were not good, form-wise. I need to schedule more distance swims to build up my endurance once more. Here are the times for the 3 500s and the last 50: 9:32, 9:41, 9:49, 0:58.

Avg pace = 1:56/100 yds
Total distance = 1550 yds
Elapsed moving time = 30:00
Avg heartrate = 145 bpm (Amazfit)
SWOLF = 39
Avg stroke rate = 22 bpm

When I got out of the pool, I headed to the locker room to change into my running gear, then headed out for a 5k run following the normal course that starts from the WWC. I was a little faster at the start and maintained my pace through the second mile, then I sped up a fair amount for the last mile+. Felt pretty good, legs held up with no pain, and perhaps my breathing was a little easier at this lower elevation.

Avg pace = 7:25/mi
Total distance = 3.12 mi
Elapsed moving time = 23:12
Avg heartrate = 144 bpm (Coospo)
Relative Effort = 24

Picked up my stuff when I got back and rode home, cool breeze felt good on the way back. I ate some cereal for breakfast and then made coffee while I changed to go to the HP site and have coffee with Brooke and Gary. Sue is doing better, still not able to walk a flat mile without stopping and resting, she has good days and bad days. Gary is doing okay, lower back pain appears to be manageable. Christine's husband Atticus is in the SAG, and they're coming down for Comic-Con this weekend, along with some others. Brooke shared some news about the site and HP, doesn't look so great for anything long-term (i.e. greater than 2-3 years). She and her family are doing a Panama Canal cruise in November. I rode home and did a little garage cleanup, also finding out that I can use the stakes from the old camping solar lights for the lights in the back yard, so I set one of the lights back up. I didn't finish capturing what I did on this day soon enough, so the rest of the day is a blank, although it appears I didn't go anywhere else.
