I had just enough time when I got home to shower and change before riding my scooter over to John's house. We drove to downtown San Diego and parked in a lot near Petco Park, then walked over to the Knotty Barrel and met Dennis and Karen. The place wasn't open yet, so they had time to move their car to a different lot while we waited for Ross and Kenda to show up. We got in there right around 11:30. Food was decent, I stayed away from beer and had Coke instead. Good conversation, as always. Kenda's business has been upended by the new White House administration, but it seems like she is adapting (not liking it much, but making do). Dennis and Karen had a good time with Sam and his family on Oahu, although Karen isn't much of a traveler (doesn't like to leave the dog and the pool). Then we walked over to the ballpark, got in with no problems, and found our seats. We only had five close to each other, so Kenda spent time walking around and sitting in seats until she was shooed away. Apparently, she got a baseball from the ball girl, but then the ball girl made her give it to a kid. Hilarious! Was a good game. Yu Darvish pitched like his vintage self, and the Padres scored five runs over the course of the game, winning it in a shutout. Game took about 2.5 hours to play, which was also a good thing. The drive back to John's house was through really busy afternoon rush hour traffic, so that wasn't so fun. Then I rode my scooter home from there and got home around 5:15. Dinner and some TV in the evening. I also switched out the tires on my Canyon to the Gatorskins for the planned Palomar ride as well as the Saturday Padres Pedal the Cause ride.
