Solo ride initially, heading up Azucar Way to Duenda Rd and taking it over to W Bernardo Dr. It was cold enough at the start for me to wear my jacket and for my fingers to be cold for the first 30 min or so. Left on RB Rd and over to Bernardo Center Dr. Rode up to Lomica Dr, then over to Pomerado Rd. Up to Ted Williams Pkwy, then over to Rancho Carmel Dr and up to Carmel Mountain Rd, the last part was pretty slow. Rode on Paseo Lucido over to Bernardo Heights Pkwy, then up and down to Bernardo Center Dr. Back to Jim's house via Duenda Rd, where I met up with him and John. We headed through the neighborhood to RB Rd and then to Camino del Sur, taking it down to San Dieguito Rd. It was warming up nicely by this time, and the weather was at a good temperature. Down into Fairbanks Ranch and then over to El Camino Real. I was able to keep my speed up over 10 mph on the climb into Del Mar Heights, but it was a really big effort for me in my current condition. Waited for the others, then we continued together down to the 56 bike trail, taking it back to Camino del Sur. Jim had indicated that he wanted to cross the 56 earlier, but I didn't understand, so we got split up. John and I waited for him, then rode back down the bike trail, where he was finally riding up to meet us. We continued home via Camino del Sur, where Jim really slowed down. He was feeling under the weather and wiped out from not riding much recently. Over to RB Rd, then back to his house through the neighborhood. The last little bit was really slow, as Jim didn't have any push left. My quads let me know toward the end of the ride that they were feeling it as well, so I kept it dialed back too. Felt fine when I got home, just tired. But I worked in the back yard in the afternoon, and it was fine.
