Swam in the morning at the WWC, all with the snorkel, 40 lengths with swim pads and 30 without. Finished in 40 minutes, so maybe I'm getting a little bit faster. I got there just as they were opening the gate, and wouldn't you know it there were a bunch of people ahead of me. Was able to get the last swim lane, but about halfway through my swim another guy got in next to me and was crowding me for a while. Not a big deal but not so cool either.
For the afternoon ride with Blair, I rode through the neighborhood to Via del Campo and then took the long way around the campus to get to the back parking lot. We headed out Bernardo Center Dr to Camino del Norte and stayed on it and Camino del Sur all the way to the 56 bike path. Throughout this ride, I kept my pace modest, riding with him and hearing how things are going. We headed up the bike path until Salmon River Rd, then took that over to Paseo Montalban and then to Black Mountain Rd. Easy does it up to Carmel Valley Rd, turning right and riding the last little climb before the exhilarating downhill, with a tailwind to boost our speeds. Left on Dove Canyon Rd, taking it to RB Rd and the normal way back to the site from there. Home the normal way. This was a nice, low-impact ride, started out hot and humid but cooled down and got cloudy during the course of the ride.
