Had a really rough night, as my cold symptoms made me achy and congested. Had vivid and unresolved dreams that kept me from resting. Woke up in the morning to an expected busy day, worried that I wouldn't feel well. But after I got up I felt better. Waited for Laura, and then Joe, to get up, then we went to Mama Kat's for breakfast. We got there late enough that it was quite busy, had to wait about 20 minutes until a table freed up. The food was good, Laura talked a fair amount about some of the times that she has felt a lot of stress in her job, I shared some examples as well. After we got home, I had some time to rest and get ready for the remainder of the day. In the early afternoon Joe and I drove downtown (were originally going to park by Fashion Valley and take the trolley in, but that was a bad idea due to Black Friday), found a great parking spot near Little Italy, then walked to the boardwalk and down to the Embarcadero to go on a 2-hour harbor cruise. Weather was just excellent, Rusty the guide was encyclopedic in his knowledge about navy operations and ships, and we had a very good time. Stopped in the Berkeley gift shop on the way back to the car, and Joe bought Laura a postcard. We got home a little before 5:00, and Laura, Emily, and Caleb were there. Had dinner at the house before we drove down in two cars to see the improv show at the National Comedy Theater. It was pretty good, had some very funny moments, but some of the skits weren't so funny. Joe was in one where he played Louis XVI, and that was a funny one, as well as a musical improvised around taro root (was supposed to be tissue). Home after that, and to bed after a long, tiring day.
