Ride over to Gideon's, then to the 4S Target for a Bisikleta ride. On this ride, there were: Zac, Ray, Jamil, Hugo, Fritz, Edson, Gideon, Arnold, Jed, Darnell, and James. Out Camino del Sur to San Dieguito Rd, first up the little climb but it took an effort to get past Gideon. On the downhill, Zac was really pushing the pace, and I did my best to keep up with him. Turned on El Apajo and rode over to, and up, Via de la Valle to get to Paseo Delicias. Zac got out in front on that little climb, and I sat on his wheel until near the end, where I had some more left to zoom by and round the turn first. We rode to Montevideo, then to El Camino del Norte via Lago Lindo. Around this point, Arnold got off track and we didn't see him, or Gideon, for a while. The rest of us headed down El Camino del Norte to Rancho Santa Fe Rd, turning left this time and taking it, as it turned into Manchester Ave, down to the tee. The group started to split up here, as four of us tried to wait for Gideon and Arnold to show up while the others continued. We eventually continued, heading down to the entrance to the bike path by the water treatment plant. Up to Birmingham Dr, a little climb, then we turned around and rode back down, following the freeway this time, back to Manchester Dr. Across and back to the suspension bridge near there, getting back on the bike path and riding it up toward Lomas Santa Fe. I got out ahead of the others and made decent time up this gradual ascent. Stop at the gas station where we have stopped before, then we continued on Lomas Santa Fe down to the coast highway, turning left. Through Solana Beach and up into Del Mar, where Gideon and Fritz pushed the pace on that little climb into town. Zac and I caught them as it was flattening out, and he kept driving hard on the continuing slight climb through town. I was looking forward to turning past Del Mar, but several of the riders wanted to go up Torrey Pines, so we did, the outside route. First time for me in a long while, I did okay, stronger in the early and later parts, catching and passing all the other riders except Zac, who was on a mission and set a PR for that climb. I did too, at least for my Strava history. We turned around and rode back down, and toward the bottom my front fork started wobbling, so I slowed way down. Need to try and adjust it again so it is more stable, it hadn't been this unstable in a while. We lost Fritz, Ray, and Arnold at the top of the hill, as Ray had to deal with a rear flat on his tubeless wheel. Jed, Zac, and I continued, and for a time I was in the weakest form of the three while we rode up the 56 bike path. Past Carmel Valley Rd, Jed had a flat, and we had to repair it twice. I think that took something out of him and gave me a break that I needed. After that, the three of us kinda kept together, with Zac out in front and me unable to catch up for the most part. I did hang with him on the little climb on Camino del Sur up to Carmel Valley Rd. On the last stretches, he would get out in front, then slow down, probably to give me the chance to catch up. We got out ahead of Jed, but he eventually caught up with us at a light near the finish, before we passed him again. Home the normal way through the neighborhood, after a beer from a cooler that Arnold had in the back of his car. That beer tasted mighty fine. Legs held up the entire ride, no muscle cramping or spasms, but I was really tired later.
