08-19-2022 Ride

Solo ride on a Friday, taking the day off.  Not intending to ride hard, just get some miles in.  Through the neighborhood to RB Rd, and then right on Alva Rd to go through the 4S neighborhood and Paseo del Sur through the Del Sur neighborhood.  Eventually to Camino del Sur, heading past the 56 and intending to get to Park Village Rd.  Rode around the construction areas eventually coming to a fence across Camino del Sur that I couldn't get around.  So I turned around and headed back to Carmel Mountain Rd, taking it up to Black Mountain Rd and then over to the 56 bike path.  Headed east over to Rancho Penasquitos Dr, turning right and getting onto Poway Rd.  Up to Sabre Springs Pkwy, turning right and taking it to Springhurst Dr, where I turned right and took it up the hill by John's house to Springbrook Dr and then to Scripps-Poway Pkwy.  Down the hill to Pomerado Rd, where I turned left and took it back to RB Rd, helped by a little bit of a tailwind.  RB Rd to W Bernardo Dr, taking it down to Aguamiel Rd before turning and heading home.  Felt good for a fairly low-impact ride.

Later in the day, I received my Favero Assioma Shi pedal spindles, and I was able to use Blair's spline tool to remove my spindles from my old pedals and replace them with these ones.  Some difficulty in the rotation of the pedal axles, they are more resistant than my old ones.  I had a devil of a time getting the pedals to register wattage on my Wahoo.  Calibrated them using the Assioma app, then rode on the trainer with it plugged in to show the wattage from the trainer.  After doing that and then unplugging the trainer, I could see the wattage display from the pedals.  Not sure what was the hangup.  Will try them out on the Bisikleta ride tomorrow.

Avg speed = 15.9 mph. Total mileage = 30.6 mi
Total elevation gain = 1860'
Avg heartrate = 123 bpm
