08-01-2025 Swim/Run

I slept fitfully after having a Slurpee, probably too late in the evening. Woke up during the night, and ate some cereal to calm my stomach. I also read for a while. When I did get up, I decided to go in later for a swim at the WWC (<!>). When I got there I found an open lane and ended up swimming 1150 yds, didn't know I over counted the laps so much.

After the swim I dressed for a longer run, had earlier mapped out a 5-mile loop from the WWC. I had forgotten my phone, so I tracked the run on my watch instead. I didn't remember the entire route, so I only ran a little over 4 miles. Kept the pace lower, as this route has more elevation in it. Sun started coming out during the run, my legs felt fine at the end. I used my Amazfit to track my heartrate, and it's almost surely reading high, both for running and swimming. Otherwise, I would have been gasping for air during the run instead of finding it a pretty leisurely pace.

I saw Howard after I had picked up my stuff, he says he had a brain bleed of some sort several months back and his double vision isn't getting better. He is swimming again, which is something. I rode home, had some breakfast, then showered and drove over to Joe's house to swap some old tires for borrowing his bear canister for the backpacking trip. Had a light afternoon, took a little nap and read some, then watched TV. I did receive the packages for my ultralight tent and sleeping quilt. Both of them look to be pretty decent. Later, I washed my bike off for the ride tomorrow. Evening was quiet, just resting up for the big day.
