08-24-2025 Walk

This was a frustrating exercise day, unfortunately. I woke up about 5:15 and got ready to ride up to Mt Baldy Village. Was all ready, ate some coffee cake for breakfast and took a banana with me, but when I got out to the car I found that my front tire was flat. Really? Not sure why I've been having so many flats, but if it's the new tires they have to go. So I went for an hourlong walk around the La Verne neighborhood where the Humes live and got back in plenty of time to rest a bit and get ready for church. Saw the Viggers and the Mohls at church, along with the Littles, as well as Sharon Rhodes-Wickett, the retired CUMC pastor who came in after Bob Davis retired. Then we went with the former boosters to brunch at a little place, Antigua Bread, in La Verne. Curt didn't join us, he was helping set up the Messy Church layout instead. It was nice to catch up with the Mohls. They are both active exercisers, also seeing a lot of movies and traveling. Stephanie is married and lives in Orange, while Jenna has a boyfriend and lives in downtown Seattle. We chatted a little bit with the Humes after we got back to their place, then packed up our stuff, and I drove home. I was tired, so the drive seemed longer than usual, although we only hit a little traffic around Temecula. Got home around 3:00, I rested for a short bit and read some. I also patched three inner tubes that had recently flatted. Called Mom around 4:30, she mentioned for the first time in a while to me that she is considering moving into assisted living. I got the impression that she's not actively ready to do it, and I advised her to talk to Mark as well and let him know. She was stressed out about the Pathfinder as well, but she calmed down during the latter part of the call, which was more casual. Went for a very short walk in the evening to finish getting my steps in, then I put one of the repaired inner tubes in my front tire to fix that flat. Watched a little TV in the evening, then it was time for sleep.
