08-19-2025 Ride/Walk

Got up again in the middle of the night and needed to have something to eat. I read for a bit and then got back to sleep, waking up around 6:00 and getting ready for my first ride in a week. I intended to keep the pace mild and not stress my still sore legs too much. Headed through the neighborhood to Poblado Rd, then took Capilla Rd to Olmeda Way to RB Rd and up to the top. Through the 4S Ranch neighborhood to Ralphs Ranch Rd and then back to Paseo del Sur, staying on this road down to CdS. I went through several patches of fog on this stretch, and it was just overcast when I got to CdS. Down to the 56 bike path, turning right there and taking it to ECR. I stopped at this point and ate a granola bar before continuing up to Del Mar Heights, appreciated the newly paved road. Then it was down the hill and over to San Dieguito Rd, where I turned. The stretch to the bottom of Three Witches went surprisingly quickly, although I wasn't fast, time just passed rapidly I guess. Slow up this climb back to CdS, then home the new normal way from there. It was only near the end of this ride that the sun came out, which was a bonus for the ride.

I had some cantaloupe and other snacks for breakfast when I got home. Kept working on transferring phone storage files to my new MicroSD card (changed my strategy to copying the contents to the computer first, which is much faster and probably less susceptible to read/write errors). Ann suggested going down to Balboa Park for free museum Tuesday, so we drove over to Von's, picked up some more lunch stuff, then she drove down to park by the playground. Nice lunch, then we walked over to the Mingei Museum and went through it. This is a small museum that doesn't usually take a long time to get through, my kind of place. We went to the SD Museum of Art next and saw the exhibits we hadn't seen before, then I drove home, getting there around 2:30. I was tired and had a little nap in the afternoon, woke up feeling better. I kept working on setting up my new MicroSD card. then after dinner I went for a 45-minute walk to finish getting my steps in. Watched some TV as well, then it was time for sleep.
