We arranged to rent a car from the airport and got a shuttle ride from Cody at KOA. It was more expensive than it should have been, but he was a nice guy, telling us about his time at the campground, where his husband is the GM. Once we got the car, we drove to Canyonlands NP, Island of the Sky area. There were a number of viewpoints on the way to the Grand View area, and we hiked out to Mesa Arch at one of them. The canyon views were spectacular. After the Grand View stop, we drove over to another hiking spot, to an overlook for the Upheaval Dome. I really didn't think Ann would hike up to the first overlook, but she made it. Fantastic! We then drove back into Moab, hoping to get some shave ice, but the shop was closed. So we shopped for dinner food and bought some Popsicles. Dinner was Mexican food that we made, and it was pretty good. We walked over to the pool after dinner and sat by the fire pit for a while, talking to another family a little bit.
