Ride over, through the neighborhood to Matinal Rd and then to W Bernardo Dr, to the Park n' Ride at Ted Williams Pkwy, taking Bernardo Heights Pkwy route. There, I met up with John, and we followed the old time trial route up past Dave's old street and eventually to Poway Rd. The little climb up to there was a small challenge. Then it was down to Community Rd, turning left there and riding over to Metate Ln to Pomerado Rd. We turned left and headed up the climb. I felt decent during parts of this climb but not fully ready to push the pace consistently all the way to the top. We then rode downhill, watching for lots of traffic on Pomerado Rd and heading over the freeway to get to Kearny Villa Rd, where we turned right and took it to Black Mountain Rd, following this road through Mira Mesa and downhill until we had to climb back up to the 56 bike path. This climb is not as long as the Pomerado hill climb, but it has some steeper sections to deal with after the traffic light. We then rode back to our meet-up point, splitting there. I rode home by retracing my route back by the high school, taking Bernardo Center Dr to Duenda Rd and then home that way. Legs held up fine, no real big effort, although the three climbs took some doing. Was a little tired later on but not so much.
