After Bisquik breakfast pancakes, a good choice for future camping trips, we met Matt, the mobile auto repair guy. He checked the car computer and reset the oil pressure warning light, added another quart of oil, and gave us some really useful advice about what was going on and how to monitor the car's condition on the way home. So we packed up our stuff, stopped in town to buy oil and get gas, then dropped off the rental car before getting on the way home. I watched the tachometer closely during the entire ride and kept it below 3000 rpm for almost the entire time. While we were on the way, Ann checked out hotel availability in Las Vegas and booked us a room at the Excalibur. We stopped a couple of times, one for takeaway lunch at Taco Time, another time at DQ for a discount Blizzard, and then again for gas. Got into Las Vegas around 5:00 PM PDT. The Excalibur was clean, a little dated, but the room was just fine. After putting our stuff in the room, we walked down to the Strip, bought a couple of daiquiris, and strolled down until turning around at Caesar's Palace and heading back. I got a slice of pizza and Ann ended up eating some of the food we had brought up to the room. No oil lost during the trip, which was a good thing.
