04-06-2025 Walk

Woke up with the intention of hanging around the house and going to church with Ann. I blogged about the century ride, waiting for her to get up. Eventually she did, around 8:00. So, we didn't go to church. <!> It was a great lazy Sunday morning. I did talk at length with Ben about a good conversation he had with Ross regarding Ross's dental issues, as well as his concerns about Abigail. In the afternoon, we drove over to Rancho Guajito Winery off the 78 in the San Pasqual Valley and shared a bottle of wine while listening to a cover band, Cadillac Fringe. They were acceptable, the guitar player was actually quite good, the lead singer was typically ostentatious and out there. We were lucky to find places to sit in the shade until the sun started creeping in on Ann's side during the second set. That's when we left. Tried to talk to Mom in the late afternoon, but she was resting, so I ended up having a good, somewhat tense conversation with Ross, who seemed to be on the edge. But he didn't go over it, and I got a decent picture of how Mom is doing, from his perspective. After dinner, I had a lot of steps to get in, so I went for an 80-minute walk down around the park and across the pedestrian bridge, listening to podcasts along the way. The sun set while I was walking, was glad to get home on legs tired from the previous day.
