04-21-2025 Rides

I had noticed some coolant on the garage floor the previous day, also saw that the coolant level had dropped. So I drove over to Jesco in the morning to have them look at the car before our trip. Dropped it off and rode home, taking the path by Kit Carson Park and then the freeway. I had to fix a rear tire flat right after I started, which was a minor inconvenience.

This was a relaxed day, where I got things ready for the trip, including packing my stuff. Did a fair amount of reading and watched some TV during the day. I also helped Ann weed the front rock path, adding more pea gravel as well. More work needed there. Cleaned the kitchen counters and trimmed back the big bush in the front yard, watching out to keep from getting stung by all the bees. Peter called in mid-afternoon to tell me the car was ready, so I rode back there and picked it up.

Avg speed = 15.3 mph (15.9 mph). Total mileage = 5.8 mi
Avg power = 147 W. Weighted avg power = 167 W

No charge for them to tighten up the hose clamps and pressure-test the system. Ann ran errands after I got home. In the early evening, I drove over to Home Depot and picked up a garden sprayer to use as a makeshift shower while camping. When I got home, after dinner, I packed the car up, it was pretty full for the long trip. Finished the bulk of my packing and then turned in fairly early, knowing it was going to be a long driving day on Tuesday.
