04-13-2025 Run

Woke up around 6:15, having gotten up only once in the night to pee and getting right back to sleep. Even though I figured it was going to be a busy morning, I went for a run, heading north to the end of the campground, then running south all the way to the other end before turning around and running back to our campsite (and a little beyond, to ensure I got 5k in). Not fast, but it wasn't intended to be, and each successive mile was faster than the previous.

Avg pace = 9:16/mi
Total distance = 3.17 mi
Elapsed moving time = 29:26
Avg heartrate = 122 bpm (Coospo)
Relative Effort = 6

Charlie was just getting up when I arrived back at the site, and Ann was not far from coming out of the tent. I put water on for coffee, then started breaking camp while Ann made breakfast. It was a more leisurely pace for taking camp down, we talked with Charlie while eating breakfast, and then with Cam's wife just as we were finishing packing up the car. It was their first time camping in a long time, but she was asking about us four camping together some time in the future (Camp Richardson Resort up in South Lake Tahoe). That could be a fun trip. The drive home was uneventful, and I had time to unpack and store our camping gear, then have a shave and a shower before riding my scooter down to meet Eric Sweet at Loving Hut for lunch. Our conversation was a good one, we talked about whale watching (he had just gone, unsuccessfully) and the situation with Americans and diets (including ramifications of the new GLP-1 regulator drugs). Food was good as well. I rode back home and had a little nap in the afternoon, not doing much after the eventful weekend. I did put oil in the car and more air in my scooter tires. Talked to Mom at length in the late afternoon and was more direct with her than I have been in a long time. It was a decent conversation, cleared the air about how we both feel. She wants to reduce the hours of the caregivers some more, I don't see a major problem with it as long as she is okay with the higher probability of Ross coming home from work and discovering that she has died. Will see how this plays out with the other brothers. I think Ross is okay with it, at least that is what he will say. Easy evening, watching a little TV before reading.
