05-19-2025 Run

Woke up after a pretty good night's sleep, although my right arm is quite uncomfortable. It was 40 outside, but I went for a run anyway. East on McMillan Rd, hands were cold but not too bad. I ran to Eagle Rd and headed north to Chinden Rd and turned there. This stretch of the run was the toughest, although I wasn't having any trouble maintaining an 8-minute pace. Legs felt okay even on the third consecutive day of running. I stopped at Nazca Coffee and had an extended coffee break. Ran back through the neighborhood to Blair's house. I had originally planned on 8:30 to 9:00 minute miles, so my pace was fine.

Avg pace = 8:09/mi
Total distance = 5.04 mi
Elapsed moving time = 41:07
Avg heartrate = 133 bpm (Coospo)
Relative Effort = 16

I was already almost all packed, so I shaved and showered and then finished up. We left the house a little after 9:00 and stopped to get bagels before heading into his office. Other folks stopped by his cube, so I got to meet Michal Shaviv, Steve, and Samuel (new EE). Eric and Barry stopped by when they got in, and they shared some of the details of a cool little wind tunnel they are designing for an air management project. After that, Blair showed the latest design of Beskar BID, which has a single replaceable module for cleaner and squeegee rollers instead of the dual design we worked on. He drove me to the airport around 11:00. Plenty of time to make the flight to LAX, which was uneventful. I watched an episode and a half of Ozark on the relatively short flight. Got back to SD, Ann picked me up, and we had dinner at Nonna in Little Italy. My dish was pretty standard, not great, she liked hers better. Drove home after that, I unpacked and had a quiet evening.
