Slept a long time, had some vivid dreams in the early morning. We got up and walked into Hoi An Old Town, through occasional drizzle, to the Buttercup Café, which Ann found. This place was delightful, served American-style breakfast with a local flair. My brioche French toast with fruit and coconut ice cream on top was delicious, with pour-over coffee and fresh orange juice on ice, best breakfast yet here for me. Walked back from there, hung out for a bit, then decided to ride to the beach. I chose An Bang Beach, and the route took us through the rice pad dies, which was cool and beautiful. There was a red flag warning at the beach, high tide and lots of big waves, so we didn't go in. Instead, we walked up and down the beach both ways. Was kinda dirty, not super bad but a little debris floating around near the waterline. After the walk along the beach we got back on the bikes and headed northeast, roughly following the shoreline on side roads until they ran out. I turned toward the shore and found a little beachside Cafe to have a light snack, not a heavy lunch. Stomach management has been key for me recently on this trip. Back on the bikes, and a different way returning to the Airbnb.

Had a refreshing shower when I got back. Later, Ann went for the final fitting for her dress. In the early evening we walked to a bar serving happy hour drinks. I was feeling out of sorts, getting tired of walked around the Old Town and seeing the same sights on crowded streets. We saw a little bit of the lantern boats by the river but didn't stay until it got dark. Was not the greatest evening. My stomach was a little queasy, didn't eat dinner and went to sleep early.
