03-16-2026 Entry

Travel day. Woke up feeling okay, still runny sinuses but no body aches. We walked over to the bakery nearby for breakfast, talked to a couple (the dude, mostly) who were from Israel and Germany (small world, really). There were kittens running around and causing minor mayhem. Walked back to the flat, and shortly after Ann realized she had lost one of her hearing aids. We looked around the flat, then I retraced our path from the morning, and Ann did the same thing later. No luck, unfortunately. Packed our stuff and got a ride to the Da Nang airport, leaving around 10:00 and getting through check-in and security without any issues. On the plane and able to stow luggage. Flight was a little over an hour, and the descent was a little bumpy. The lady next to me got violently airsick, and I tried to keepy attention diverted so I didn't respond similarly. Mission accomplished. The Can Tho airport is fairly small but functional, caught a Grab for the 20-minute ride to the Airbnb. It was near the water in a tourist part of the city, somewhat upscale but not super glitzy. The Airbnb was essentially a hotel room with some cooking area, fairly new and god for our purposes, since it's so cheap to eat out here. We unloaded our stuff, and I found a vegan restaurant on the river nearby that had pretty good food,although there was a guy selling peanuts and smoking near us that wasn't so pleasant. Lots of smokers here, kinda expected that. We walked to a very nice supermarket after the early dinner and got some food for the room. The rest of the afternoon and evening were quiet.
