Solo ride over to the 4S Target, taking the long route up by the water tank in 4S Ranch. On this ride, there were, at the start: Fritz, Jed, Darnell, Perse, Arnold, Robert, and Gio. It was a standard route for us, down Camino del Sur to San Dieguito Rd and to the coast via Via de la Valle. Pace line on the flats worked pretty well, and nobody was attacking too much, just a pretty brisk pace, with me leading out a fair amount until we got to the coast, then it was more of a rotating lead. Fast heading through Cardiff, I was able to keep up with the people setting the pace this time. Then Arnold and Fritz got out ahead of us, and Rob and I couldn't catch up until we got into Encinitas. Before then, Perse turned around and headed back. Past there, we set a fast pace to La Costa Ave, where we took a break, and Rob and I turned around and retraced our route. It was fast but not screaming fast. After riding through the flats, we stopped at the gas station before Three Witches and talked with Tony and his friends, who were on mountain bikes. Not so fast up that climb, as it was starting to get hot and I didn't want to overdo it. Then it was back to the starting point without incident, where I paused briefly before riding back home. On the ride back, I took RB Rd down to W Bernardo Dr, and then down to Aguamiel Rd. The last little climb up to the house was short but tough. When I looked at my average speed for this ride, it was surprisingly high. I don't think my Wahoo was reporting the right average speed during the ride. But my average heartrate was higher than usual, probably due to the effort and the temperature.
Avg speed = 18.1 mph. Total mileage = 50.6 mi
Bisikleta section avg speed = 18.2 mph
Avg power = 148 W. Weighted avg power = 174 W
Total elevation gain = 1950'
Avg heartrate = 136 bpm
