No walk in the early morning, I did go for a swim at the WWC, getting there when it opened. As the weather cools and rain comes through the area, I don't think I'll have to worry as much about arriving early to get a swimming lane. Just a couple of us in the pool on this day. I did the standard 2000 yards with and without swim pads and swim snorkel. Without the snorkel, my swimming was ragged and I struggled at times to find a rhythm in my stroke and breathing. Finished in about 45 minutes. I got home and hung around the house until a little before 10:00, when I went for a ride. Down by the park and then up Pomerado Rd, going steadily but not pushing the pace. Felt a little tiredness in my legs from the previous day's ride, so that also slowed me down. When I got up to Twin Peaks Rd, I saw Romeo from Adobo Velo and Bisikleta, and we chatted for a short while, also taking a picture to post on WhatsApp. Then I continued on Pomerado Rd while he turned to head over to the 56 bike path. I rode up to Old Pomerado Rd and, on a whim, turned there, taking it to its dead end and then riding up the little access path to get to Scripps-Poway Pkwy. From there, I climbed, slowly, up to Springhurst Dr, then took it down to Sabre Springs Pkwy. The wind was generally coming from the south, so I benefited from this tailwind for much of the ride back. Rode over to Poway Rd and from there I stayed on the time trial route back home.

Later in the afternoon, we dropped pension checks off at the credit union and then drove over to east Escondido to donate my old Univega bike to the Valley Thrift Store. It was a slightly sad moment to say goodbye to that bike, which probably has more miles on it than any other I have owned. Got some bedside lamps while we were there, then we headed to Michael's where I bought some rubber cement to use patching inner tubes. I went for a walk in the evening before dinner and just before sunset, a little less than 2 miles.
