Went for a longer walk in the morning, heading over to Carranza Way and walking to the entrance to the power line access road. I took the western path and walked all the way to its end before turning around. Walked a total of 4 miles. Then I went to the WWC intending to swim but found, when I got there, that my goggles had broken. So I rode home, intending to call it a day for swimming, but Ann had two pairs of goggles, so I borrowed her better pair and went back. Glad I did. Even though it was cold on this day, it just made the water feel warmer. I started getting ready for my 3000 yd swim by swimming 2500 yds, 30 lengths each with and without swim pads but no snorkel, then 20 lengths each with snorkel. Felt the effects of 50 total lengths with swim pads, so it will be a challenge to add 10 more. Finished in 56 minutes. Later in the morning, I rode over to Mark Vierra's office and had a curettage and desiccation done on the little keratoacanthoma on my right arm up near my elbow. It was a relatively painless procedure and I didn't have any pain at the site throughout the day. In the afternoon, I put the new Gatorskin 700x25 tires on my Canyon bike, it went smoothly. I also finished reading Susan Casey's The Underworld about deep ocean exploration. It was a good read, she is really passionate about the ocean, and there were some intriguing characters that she met and described in the book.
