11-30-2023 Ride

Went for a walk in the morning, a little easier pace than normal, heading down to the lake and back, about 3.5 miles in more than an hour.  Then I got to the WWC when it opened, it was still a little gray but not cold, and I swam 2000 yds (normal protocol) in 43 minutes.  There were some times when it didn't seem as much of a struggle as usual while swimming without the snorkel.  Feeling stronger with it, though.  The weather turned later in the morning, and it rained off and on until about 1:30.  I let it dry some, then went out for an easy, last day of the month ride, in order to get over 700 miles riding in November.  Down by the park and then up Pomerado Rd to Ted Williams Pkwy, using it to get over to Rancho Carmel Dr.  Then I followed the time trial route for the rest of the way home.  Again, at an easy pace, I'm feeling a little more of a solid baseline in my cycling, probably aided by the miles put in recently.

Avg speed = 15.0 mph. Total mileage = 16.2 mi
Avg power = 136 W. Weighted avg power = 163 W
Total elevation gain = 1060'
Avg heartrate = 133 bpm

In the early evening, I went over to Karl Strauss and met Blair for beer and conversation.  He's worried about the status of the HP San Diego site as well as the lack of commitment from his or Indigo's management to take on longer-term projects like Beskar.  I didn't disagree with him and encouraged him to keep his options open and stay tuned into what he can imply about future site status in particular.
