Woke up a little after 6:00 and had some breakfast before getting ready for a swim at the WWC. I slept well, although I had some vivid dreams. Woke up feeling fine, no ill effects from how I felt the previous afternoon. It was overcast and had rained a little in the night, so the streets were slick. I was the only one in the pool at the start, but others joined as I was swimming. Swam 2150 yds (lost count of laps a couple of times), trying to keep a steady but not scorching pace as well as maintaining a 20-stroke count. I was largely successful in both efforts. Here are my splits for the 500s and the last 150: 9:17, 9:34, 9:43, 9:42, 2:45. I also felt like I had a little stronger finish than usual, although as usual my first 500 was much faster than the others. After the swim, I headed over to the HP Cafe to have coffee with Brooke and others (I don't remember who all showed up). In the early afternoon, I rode over to RB Community Park and met Paula for a bike ride. We headed down to Lake Hodges and got onto Pomerado Rd, which we took all the way to the top of the hill before turning on Cypress Canyon Park Dr and riding down to Angelique St. Stopped at that intersection for a picture, then we continued down the hill on Springbrook Dr until we got to Sabre Springs Pkwy, turning left and staying on it to Rancho Carmel Dr and eventually turning left onto Carmel Mountain Rd. We stayed on it through the light and took Paseo Lucido to Avenida Venusto, turning left and riding through this neighborhood down to Bernardo Heights Pkwy, taking this down to Bernardo Center Dr. A right turn there, then another right onto Lomica Dr, which we followed to Bernardo Oaks Dr, turning left there. Over to Rios Rd, turning right and following it to its end before looping back to it via Cedar Tree Way, Pinefield Rd, and Summerfield Ln. Then we took Rios Rd back to Callado Rd and turned right onto Acena Dr to get over to RB Rd. Back to the park via Bernardo Center Dr, Duenda Rd, and W Bernardo Dr. Was nice to finish this ride with a downhill section. Pace was slower than usual, generally riding at Paula's pace and including a fair amount of elevation gain.
Avg speed = 13.3 mph. Total mileage = 29.4 mi
Avg power = 114 W. Weighted avg power = 136 W
Total elevation gain = 2150'
Avg heartrate = 110 bpm (Coospo)
Relative Effort = 29
Training Load = 123
Intensity = 68%
The ride took most of the afternoon, and the rest of the day was a quiet one.
