Woke up a little early (<>) and had a leisurely time of it before getting ready to go to church. It had been a while since I had gone, and Ann was the liturgist. Emily sang with the choir, and after church we talked to a number of folks on the patio before heading home (got gas on the way). I had some lunch, kicked around the house a little bit, and put some old cleats on my new cycling shoes. In the early afternoon, I headed out for a bike ride. Down by the park, then over to Highland Valley Rd. I was tired from the previous day and kept my effort level down. Still, I rode up the first climb and then up to Bandy Canyon Rd, turning there and riding around the turn, then up the dead-end road until turning around and riding back down and over to Pomerado Rd. I turned left and took it up past the hospital a couple of stoplights before turning around and riding back to RB Rd. Home the normal way via W Bernardo Dr from there. It was nice and warm on this afternoon, for a change. The new shoes worked okay. The cleats don't click in a cleanly as they normally do, and I need to adjust the cleats so that the shoes aren't too close to the crank arms.

When I got home, I had a very short break, then Ann and I went out in the back yard and laid down the ground cloth by the west gate. I ran out of stakes to hold it down, so more work still needs to be done there. I did lay down the flagstones to make a walking path to the gate. The rest of the day was pretty quiet. I had a little nap in the afternoon and read some, otherwise nothing productive to report.
