02-20-2025 Swim/Ride

Had a decent night's sleep. Started cleaning the dishes when I got up and had a little breakfast before getting ready to go to the WWC for a quick swim. I swam 1600 yds, kept up a 20-stroke pace and tried at times not to swing my arms out so far before the catch. That adjustment will take time to implement, but I hope it will shorten my stroke and allow me to increase stroke frequency. On this day, I didn't really feel smooth in the water, it was more of a chore workout. Here are my split times: 9:06, 9:16, 9:21, 1:50. When I got home, I finished up the dishes and had some coffee, then scrubbed the sink to try and get the stains out. Then I packed my stuff into my backpack and did a preliminary weighing. Had noodles for lunch, then I went for my last road bike ride in a while. Headed through the neighborhood, taking the Capilla Rd route, then the extended route through 4S Ranch to get to Camino del Sur. This was a mileage ride, not a speed ride, so I took it easy out to the 56 bike path, turning right there. Rode to the exit for Rancho Santa Fe Farms, then used that road to get over to Carmel Valley Rd. There was a significant offshore breeze, so when I started heading east it was a big help. I stayed on this road through the climb up to Black Mountain Rd and then after it turned into Bernardo Center Dr. Up that last climb slowly, then home via W Bernardo Dr. It was warm at times on this ride, overall very nice temperatures for riding.

I ate a snack when I got home. Throughout the day, I also worked on cleaning up my folder of WhatsApp pics, will also be something to occupy my time on the plane. The evening was a quiet one, got all packed up and went to bed early.
