Went for a swim in the morning at the WWC. Weather was overcast, but I got over there, swam, and returned home without seeing anything more than a light sprinkle. Swam 3000 yds for the first time in a while and had my best time here, 1:01:35. I finished the first 2000 yds (standard protocol) in 39:15, so I was slower in the last third. That last third was a repeat of the first third, and my stroke was kinda ragged for the last 20 lengths with the swim pads. I replaced the tires on my bike with new ones for the century. I had thought about going for a bike ride in the early afternoon, but Ann suggested that we do something together instead, so we drove down to North Park and had lunch at Urbn Pizza (eggplant parmesan pizza, ok but not fantastic, she liked it more than I did). Then we walked up and down University Ave, seeing the little place where Emily, Caleb, and I did the beer/cheese tasting. It was a little chilly, but we didn't get rained on. Central North Park looks like it is struggling a bit, lots of coffee places, bars, restaurants, and ice cream shops, but not a lot of retail and a number of vacant storefronts. We stopped and got groceries at Stater Bros in CMR on the way home. After we got back, I gave my bike a good wash and made sure that the derailleur batteries were fully charged. Then I went for a short walk in the late afternoon, saw some sprinkles but no real rain. In the evening, we got the enchilada dish prepped to bake for the Friday evening potluck with Charlie, Leslie, Rob, and Isabelle.
