02-11-2024 Ride

Got a pretty good night's sleep after the big exertion on the previous day.  I rode my bike downtown to Townie Bagels and picked up a half dozen.  Legs felt okay, but there was no way they were going to let me ride hard for an extended time.  It did feel good to stretch out the leg muscles.

Avg speed = 17.0 mph. Total mileage = 9.2 mi
Avg power = 160 W. Weighted avg power = 168 W
Total elevation gain = 60'
Avg heartrate -= 110 bpm

Got back and had breakfast, then we packed up our stuff and all headed out about the same time.  An alarming thing I discovered was that either I hadn't fully screwed in my front through-axle, or it had loosened during the century ride.  Will need to be extra careful on future rides to check both through-axles.  No real traffic to speak of on the drive back, just a little slowing on the 60 before we turned onto the 215.  Ann took over driving duties when we got to Perris, and I had a little nap in the car.  Unpacked all of our gear and supplies when we got home, then we cleaned up the downstairs under the possibility of Rob and Isabelle coming over to watch the Super Bowl.  They ended up not coming over, which worked out okay, as I was fine with just watching it with Ann.  We had snacks, and the game itself was quite thrilling, great defense on both sides, with the nod going to the Chief's DC Steve Spagnolo.  And Patrick Mahomes was simply magnificent in the OT.  After the game, I went for a short walk to get up to 10k steps.
