Went out for a ride in the morning, not intending to push the pace hard. So I rode basically the reverse extended time trial loop, with a little jaunt on Oak Knoll Rd to get onto Pomerado Rd. This direction appears to have shorter, steeper climbs than the reverse, although it's not consistent. Weather was cool but not cold, overcast, so almost ideal for riding. At the light at Pomerado and RB Rd, another rider caught up with me, and we exchanged pleasantries. We ended up riding together the rest of the way down Pomerado Rd and up the little climb to the park. His name was Brian, and he was a serious rider, regularly riding significant distances. I picked up my pace a little bit to keep with him, and we had a nice conversation. So it didn't turn out to be as slow and easy as I thought, but it was still a good ride, not super strenuous.

In the late morning, I went for a shorter walk to get some steps in, listening to a podcast about a guy in a marriage who had to find his happiness in ways other than just doing things with his wife. Then Ann and I went to a Jason Mraz benefit concert at the Escondido Center for the Performing Arts in the afternoon with the guys, and had dinner at a Nepalese restaurant in San Marcos.
