Posted several months afterward. I got up early and went for a walk down to the pedestrian bridge by Lake Hodges, over it, and then back the same way. Then I got ready and rode my scooter over to the WWC for a swim, 2000 yds following the normal protocol. Finished in a little over 40 minutes. In the afternoon, Ann and I drove over to Escondido to fill up the propane tank for the Death Valley trip (note: it wasn't completely empty like I thought. Later on, during the trip, I noticed that the hose connection to the tank needed to be fully screwed in before gas would flow. Lesson learned, and I was able to return the new propane hose that I had bought, thinking it was at fault).
