02-19-2024 Swim/Virtual Ride

Went for a walk in the morning, a little over an hour, before heading over to the WWC for a swim, 2000 yds in 40:12 following the usual protocol.  I thought I would be faster, but I was happy that my shoulders didn't bother me during the swim.  Later in the morning, we got out all the camping gear and checked it off the list, then in the afternoon I packed the car with the non-perishable items.  After dinner, I set up MyWhoosh on my phone (it took a while, as it had to download a bunch of route map data) and selected a 24 km route, mostly flat with a couple of little hill sections, supposedly in Belgium.  I saved the data into a .FIT file in MyWhoosh and, afterward, set up MyWhoosh to upload automatically to Strava, let's see if it works. I also downloaded a nice little free app, GPXSee, that allows me to view the data in .FIT files.

Avg speed = 19.1 mph. Total mileage = 15.0 mi
Avg power = 184 W
Total elevation gain = 460'

In the evening, I talked to Joe about arrangements for camping during Solvang Century weekend.  I'm concerned that we won't be able to get all the bikes loaded onto his truck, so Joe is going to check with him. Another rider, Jason Stood, who Joe and Mike camped with last summer, is also joining us from Chicago.
