09-09-2024 Ride

Felt better when I woke up, still isolating. I got a decent night's sleep and decided to go for a bike ride while it was early and, hopefully, not too hot. I chose a route that had distance without significant elevation change, so I rode down the hill and over, via the pedestrian bridge, to BVP. Took the back way around the mall to get over to Escondido Blvd, then to Centre City Pkwy. Through Escondido and up to Deer Springs Rd, doing my best to stay in Zone 1. I was largely successful for the ride, ending up in Zone 1 about 70% of the time, the rest in Zone 2. Over to Twin Oaks Valley Pkwy, where it was easier to stay in Zone 1 all the way back into San Marcos. Took Barham Dr to get to Mission Ave, which I used to get back to Centre City Pkwy. From there, I retraced my route back home. No obvious feelings of being out of breath during the ride, and it seemed to clear my sinuses a little bit.

Avg speed = 13.4 mph. Total mileage = 32.0
Avg power = 84 W. Weighted avg power = 104 W
Total elevation gain = 1260'
Avg heartrate = 104 bpm (Coospo)

I stayed around the house for the rest of the day. Ann ended up going to the beach with Johnnie. Replaced the tire and wheel on my old bike, and I cleaned and waxed its chain as well, since it had gotten pretty wet on the Friday ride. I had some success coding, including adding in the function of loading the GPX file analysis stats and using them to bypass calculations that have already been performed. I changed the program to load power curve data, and comparison power curve data as well, from this database rather from separate power curve files, as I had done in the past. And I updated the batch file analysis routine to add file stats to the existing database rather than generating the entire database dataset again. Finally, I added custom HR values into my Strava profile so that it matches the threshold values on my Wahoo. Still some work to fix odd errors that will crop up, but I believe the heavy lifting is done here for this functionality.
