09-20-2024 Entry

I got up early and went for a hike around the park. Headed over to the beach and found a sketchy way to get past the lagoon to the beach proper. Then I walked through the marsh area again and found a trail that continued inland along the marshy lowlands. I saw a deer in the distance, eventually hiked up to the road and followed another trail back toward our campsite. Ann was getting up when I got back, we had oatmeal and toast for breakfast, then started packing up. It went more smoothly, but for some reason I had more difficulty fitting all the gear into the car. We got going and headed the short distance down to Cayucos, where we met David and Christine at the Airbnb they had selected. We unloaded the food out of the car and put my bike in the garage. Then we drove into town and had lunch at the Hidden Kitchen (very good food, expensive for what we got, yuppie vibe). We drove back and started some wash, then drove together into Morro Bay to an Albertson's. Got food for the next two nights, then went back and hung out, taking a little walk down to the beach right before dinner (eggplant parmesan that Christine made). Caught up on our lives after dinner and talked some politics before calling it a night.
