Travel day. I got up early and went for a walk for a little bit less than an hour. Had some breakfast when I got home, then we started packing things up. I finished packing my personal stuff, then I worked on the car while Ann filled the cooler. It seemed like we had more stuff than usual, but we did bring the firewood bin and more food than usual. Skipped bringing the sunshade (we didn't need it, it turns out). The drive up was uneventful, traffic going through LA, nothing like a traffic jam, just numerous slowdowns. We stopped at this good Peruvian restaurant, Mouthful Eatery, in Thousand Oaks and ate lunch. Ann drove the rest of the way from there. Got to El Capitan SB right around 2:00. She picked a good campsite for us, had some shade and was fairly quiet. It was quite windy as we set up camp, so I tied down the tent and vestibule tighter than usual. The wind persisted through the evening. We had burgers for dinner and peach cobbler in the Dutch oven for dessert. Latter was fabulous, maybe one of our best desserts. I was tired from the long day, so after cleaning up the dinner dishes I was ready to lay down.
