01-03-2025 Entry

Went for an hourlong walk around the neighborhood when I woke up. This was going to be an easy exercise day, nothing else planned. During the day, I went to Home Depot to get some mineral spirits, cleaned the new (Shimano CN-6701) bicycle chain for my Fuji bike using the mineral spirits and an acetone rinse, then waxed the chain, letting it sit in the wax bath for a longer time than usual. I watched some TV and read as well, nothing else much done. Also worked on file cleanup, this time focusing on consolidating all of my work-related files into a single HDD. Still more needs to be done there. In the evening, we went to a San Diego Folk Heritage concert at Templar's Hall in Poway. It was Tyler Grant, an excellent flat-picking guitar player with an average voice and songwriting skills. The opening act was Travis Oliver, a local techie who is also a pretty good flat-picker himself. The place was packed, and the show was enjoyable, especially the non-vocal pieces, where they let themselves go all-out on the guitar. We also stopped at Aldi before the show to get some dry goods.
