Woke up when Ann's alarm went off at 3:00. No breakfast to speak of, had a shower and got stuff ready for the trip. We left at 3:45 and got to the hotel where we parked our car at about 5:05. There were a lot of people waiting for the shuttle to the airport, but we got on early because we could carry our backpacks into the van. Getting to the gate went fairly smoothly, and the plane left the gate on time. The flight itself was uneventful, I had a middle seat, which was not ideal but bearable. We had to wait after touchdown for the gate to clear, but the biggest wait was in the line for the Budget rental car. It was strange, since all of the other agencies were just walk-up. Eventually, we got a Genesis G80, the first all-electric car I've driven. It's pretty plush, much more than we need. We stopped at the store on the way to the lake house and got stuff to make spaghetti. Mom was glad to see us and in good form, we saw Ross briefly before he had to head home and work on a water leak at his place. I went for a 45 minute walk before dinner, helped Ann with the cooking first. Mom ate well, and we talked for a while after dinner. I was getting pretty sleepy from the long day with an early start, so I turned in around 8:30.
