01-12-2025 Ride

Slept longer than usual, cleaned the kitchen and ate breakfast when I got up. Did some file cleanup before getting ready to go to church with Ann. I took my bike and stuff as well. Ben Camp preached, and he's a pretty good preacher, if you like a Bible focus. After church, we talked to John and Mary Bowman for a bit, then I changed for the ride. I headed up Broadway to Grand Ave and used it to get to Centre City Pkwy. Rode up to Iris Ln and turned right there to head over to Country Club Ln, which I used to get back to Broadway. Then it was up to Jesmond Dene Rd, which I took back to Centre City Pkwy. I took the last little climb slow. Rode up to Deer Springs Rd and down the hill in steady traffic. That descent was sketchy, not sure I want to do that again soon. I headed over to Buena Creek Rd and turned there. The little climb wasn't too bad, and I enjoyed the descent to Santa Fe Ave. Normal way back into Escondido via Mission Rd, aided by a tailwind. I rode home the normal way across the freeway, using Quince St and not driving too hard. I did work a little harder on the last little climbs to keep my average speed up.

Avg speed = 17.5 mph. Total mileage = 29.4 mi
Avg power = 150 W. Weighted avg power =169 W
Total elevation gain = 1120'
Avg heartrate = 119 bpm (Coospo)
Relative Effort = 32
Training Load = 92
Intensity = 70%

When I got home, I had some enchiladas for lunch and then didn't do much for the rest of the day. I tried to call Mom without success, watched some TV, and read for a bit. Then I continued the file cleanup, this time going back to the stack of old CDs and DVDs to capture files not in our archives. Watched football after dinner.
