01-01-2026 Entry

Quiet day at home. I was not feeling great in the morning from a poor night's sleep and the effects of my COVID booster the previous day. Napped a fair amount in the afternoon and felt a lot better after that, washed out but no fever or upset stomach. I went out in the garage and changed my tires for the 700x25 Gatorskins, was not feeling great about riding on the Enve tires, so I set them aside for use more as emergency tires. The sidewalls are really thin, maybe they are faster but certainly not as durable. I patched the tube and left the patch to set up, will install it on front tire assuming the patch holds. Watched some TV as well. I talked to Mom in the late afternoon, she sounded generally good, had talked to Mark earlier and to Ben the previous evening. Also reserved a rental car from Sixt for the trip to Houston. Evening was quiet. I installed the new tube and put the wheel back on.
